"Hope in Leduc"

This is a story of hope. Amidst all of the proposed anti trans legislation and anti tran sentiment in the province of Alberta, Leduc a city within the province created an official and registered Pride Society. In our first year we created an inclusive halloween event for all ages. We had a flag raising that included speakers from indigenous communities, muslim communities, queer communities and on topics covering standing up for trans people in our province as well as being in relationship through treaty and being connected within religious belief systems. All ages, all races and we did not have a single protestor or detractor. A much needed story of hope in this time of attempted separation and marginalization especially from local groups claiming to want to protect our children.
