A report from the National Center for Transgender Equality reveals the challenges facing the trans community while voting, including harassment from election staff and voters for their identities and limitations on name and gender change updates on identification documents. The survey also shows that more than one-third of respondents reported that they were harassed online in the last 12 months because of their gender identity or expression.
The report also highlights other challenges for the community, such as experiences with health care providers, the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, and workplace experiences.
